Strengthening FamiCord Position in Poland: PBKM acquisition of  nOvum stem cell bank and its integration into PBKM structures

FamiCord Group continues to strengthen its position in the Polish market. In the end of 2025 PBKM signed an agreement to acquire 100% of the shares in the stem cell bank nOvum, further expanding our presence and client base in Poland.

Polski Bank Komórek Macierzystych sp. z o.o. (“PBKM”), a wholly owned subsidiary of FamiCord AG, has entered into a Share Sale Agreement with the Family Foundation nOvum and Jan Lewandowski to acquire 100% of the shares in the stem cell bank “nOvum” spółka z ograniczoną odpowiedzialnością, Warsaw, Poland (“nOvum”). This landmark project was the culmination of nearly a year of meticulous preparation, demanding strong cross-functional collaboration between our Operations, Legal, IT, Laboratory, and Finance teams. The primary goal was to ensure a seamless transition for clients while upholding our high standards of regulatory compliance and data integrity.

nOvum (renamed after the transaction into NovBank) is a family stem cell bank specializing in the collection, testing, processing, and storage of cord blood. The company offers services comparable to those provided by other entities within the FamiCord Group, making the transaction a strategically aligned expansion of the Group’s activities in the Polish market. To ensure service continuity, our Polish team managed the flawless transfer of biological material belonging to over 8,000 clients to the PBKM lab, digitized customers’ documentation, and launched a dedicated website (novbank.pl) and hotline.

The final milestone is the formal merger of NovBank into PBKM’s by March 2026. This will consolidate all clients into our fCRM system, unlocking significant operational efficiencies and creating a unified, state-of-the-art customer experience.
