From Booth to Breakthroughs: FamiCord in Action at EBMT Madrid
Beyond hosting the Eliane Gluckman Award Dinner, FamiCord Group marked a strong presence at this year’s EBMT Annual Meeting in Madrid through active scientific and educational engagement.
At our conference booth, supported by a strong international team, we held dozens of meaningful conversations with clinicians, researchers, and partners—exchanging insights on the evolving role of cord blood and cellular therapies. And yes, we can proudly say we distributed nearly 10 kilograms of educational materials, reflecting the growing interest in this field.
Importantly, FamiCord also contributed to the scientific program with a poster showcasing our expertise in the release of stem cells—not only for life-saving therapies, but increasingly for applications in regenerative medicine. This shift highlights a broader change in perspective: from emergency use to proactive therapeutic potential. As Dr. Dariusz Boruczkowski, Medical Director of PBKM, noted: “We are witnessing a transition where stem cells are no longer seen solely as a last-resort treatment, but as a versatile tool in modern medicine.” If you want to see the poster:
This direction was further reinforced by a poster presented by one of our partner clinics, focusing on the use of mesenchymal stem cells (MSC) manufactured by our Pharmaceutical Plant in GvHD. As Tomasz Ołdak emphasized: “Clinical experience continues to confirm that cellular therapies are expanding beyond traditional indications, offering new hope in complex conditions.”
This year’s EBMT meeting clearly demonstrated that FamiCord is not only an active participant, but a meaningful contributor to the evolving field of cellular therapies. From scientific engagement and knowledge sharing to everyday conversations at our booth, we are helping shape a new perspective on stem cell applications—moving from niche and emergency use toward broader, forward-looking therapeutic strategies.
